Herschel’s IRTAG Blog

The Herschel’s IRTAG Blog is an attempt to create a complete “Laser Tag” game.

The full project aim’s to build the hardware and to program the software to have fully functional weapons and playing rules.

The name of the blog and the project stands for:

Sir Frederick William Herschel, the discoverer of infrared radiation amongst a lot of other things.

Infrared (IR) radiation is electromagnetic radiation whose wavelength is longer than that of visible light. Like the one the LEDS of Herschel’s IRTAG emit. Yes, we do love recursive explanations.

To TAG, to mark something with something.

The code of the software part of the project can be found at  sourceforge.

The main, and only by now, contributors of the blog and project are two technology afficionados from Barcelona, Spain.

The project draws heavily from other Laser tag projects as:

PS: We refuse to call the weapon and the game a “Laser Tag” because it does not contain any laser (apart from any possible pointing devices).
